Helmstatter Herrenhaus in Heidelberg

Very nice restaurant. Eating satisfactorily. Waiter neglected and sloppy. Staff not particularly attentive and not interested in the guest.

Staff is pretty rude. Terrace was empty. The sun was shining. Wanted to have a drink around 4 p.m. were turned away. No service on the terrace without a meal. Were rejected coldly. A shame for Handschuhsheim and the Tiefburg!

We have never been treated as condescendingly and insultingly as we have just been by a waiter (the owner?) Of the Helmstätter manor. I see in the other reviews that these rude manners seem to have become part of the good tone of the restaurant. My urgent recommendation: Do not go out to eat in the Helmstätter Herrenhaus; Especially in Corona times, you should think carefully about which gastronomic facility you are supporting and in Handschuhsheim there are really very good alternatives.

One of the worst evenings I've had in a long time! 1. Corona seems to be a foreign word for the employees and even the simplest rules are not adhered to: waiters don't wear masks and cough nicely at the food they serve, the tables are so close that you almost back to back with the other guests sits and contact details are also not collected. When I asked to move the table a little further apart, the waiter just rolled his eyes in annoyance and said "Later". It only worked after the third request. The whole world is suffering from Corona and the associated restrictions, but the rules apparently do not apply to the manor house. 2. The behavior of the waiters is a cheek. Extremely unfriendly and in a bad mood, no trace of Italian ease. You feel like in a mass processing: eat quickly - pay and then disappear immediately so that the table can be occupied again. 3. The food is bad underground, every ready-made salad from the supermarket is put together with more love and concept than here. Conclusion: despite the beautiful location in Handschuhsheim an absolute failure. I don't wish anyone to have to spend an evening there and I hope the health department will pay the restaurant a visit soon. P.S .: A dead fly was baked on the tuna pizza - just disgusting!

Mega great food! Super hospitable and great atmosphere. Always worth a visit when in Heidelberg.

Salmone tagliatelle was salty and heavy, not that special.

The food is okay, but the Corona hygiene rules are not adhered to. Distance too small. Waiters don't wear masks. In addition, the service is not special. What a shame

We actually like to eat here, unfortunately corona measures are not implemented. Waiters sometimes do not wear masks, data is not recorded and tables are so close together that you almost sit back to back. We were seen here for the last time for the time being.

Food was very good only a little. Unfortunately the waiter was very rude. We were urged to choose food quickly. The waiter was waiting at the table after I asked to wait another 5 minutes. It was very uncomfortable for us. After the meal the plates were cleared quickly, we had nothing to drink and were not asked if we wanted to order anything else. 30 minutes later we ordered the bill. Although I was extremely annoyed, I did tip (8%) No thank you / have a nice evening etc. We won't go back to the place. The restaurant was well attended but not overcrowded. The current regulations regarding Covid 19 were not complied with.

The best thing is the ambience. The food is benevolent mediocrity but very expensive. The service, however, is up to insulting. You have the feeling that the employees are forced to work there. Corona is also ignored there. All the seats are free, but the unwanted customers are seated table by table without a gap. A visit to the regulatory office would be urgently needed here.

You will only be treated well if you have a Rolex on your arm. Absolute insolence this so-called service there. NEVER AGAIN!

Everything great. Very very courteous service that reads every wish from the eyes. Extremely delicious food. Very big recommendation! Super quality !!!! ♡♡

Fantastic restaurant with great Italian cuisine. The food is of very high quality and prepared in an authentic Italian way, the ambience fits perfectly. The service is also extremely courteous and friendly and conveys the sympathetic Italian flair. A real asset to our glove home! * Hygiene rules etc. all respected.

After our arrival we got served by two people who clearly did not coordinated themselves. We were therefore asked two times in the first 2 minutes if we've decided already, what was obviously not the case. The food, served in a cold and unfriendly manner, was average and in no comparison to the price. The waiter could not speak German to a degree, which enabled him to understand our order for the receipt. Accordingly we waited around half an hour for it to come after asking for it multiple times.

It’s OK

The food was delicious, we had 7 different foods and they were all very good. We sat on the 1st floor as the view to the castle was unique. The waiter was a bit hectic but he also had a lot to do as the place was full. An all-round successful meal.

Very gracious and attendant waiter, beautiful presentation and excellent meal. Lovely setting along side the ruins of an old fortress, and perfect weather for outdoor table seating. Well attended and well loved by local patrons.

I loved it here. Ambience was quite like anything i experienced i love the vibe here hands down.

A restaurant with a special cozy and sophisticated atmosphere. The dishes on offer are of high quality, from starters to desserts. The plates are arranged with love and also a feast for the eyes. Wine lovers will also find it here, the wine list is very extensive and every price range is represented. The service is super friendly, attentive and courteous. Will definitely come back.

One of the best Italian places in Heidelberg, though I'm not an expert on the matter. The prices are very fair for the quality of the food. Amazing pizza and pasta! In the summer the terrace is lovely and is very well located near the Handschuheim Tiefburg. Since its open all day it's a perfect place for a late lunch, since not much in the area is open during the afternoon. Highly recommend it.

Good food, nice vibe

Too bad the tuna pizza is dry and so salty .. nice room, service ok.Attention to the espresso coffee: impossible to drink so hard ... obviously not a mocha from Ethiopia!

Very very good food

Good Italian restaurant and basically in an historic place. The service is very friendly and it is ok to just drink a coffee or a beer. Which is perfect in a sunny day outside! You have a great view to the little handschuhsheim castle. The food is also ok but the prices are not so fair (of course you pay also the place). You can also order a pizza to go and it would be 1 Euro cheaper. Is a quite place since it is far from the city center ( +/- 2,5 km). Recommend it!

Food was great and staff know what service means. This is also reflected in the price which is sometimse not always reasonable especially for some pasta dishes. However the atmosphere and the large menu make up for it.
